Nevada brothel owner and GOP candidate Dennis Hof has died after being found unresponsive at his Love Ranch located about an hour outside of Las Vegas. He was 72.
According to the Nye County Sheriff’s Office, on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2018, around 11 a.m. a female employee and pornographic film star Ron Jeremy discovered Hof in his bedroom at the ranch. He was not breathing at the time.
Jeremy was at the brothel that morning after celebrating Hof’s birthday hours earlier he told the Associated Press that when he was found Hof’s eyes “were not full” and his skin felt cold. Jeremy added that “he was totally stiff. And I’m saying ‘Honey, we really have a problem here.’”
Hof was pronounced dead when medical personnel arrived and is believed to have passed away in his sleep. Police said they do not expect foul play.
Hours later, Jeremy tweeted about the loss of his friend.

Hof was not only the owner of several legal brothels but he was also a businessman, a politician, a producer, and reality TV star. In 2005, his Moonlite Bunny Ranch became the subject and location of the HBO series Cathouse which documented the professional lives of those who worked there.

Hof’s famous brothels
Hof was engaged to former Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss in 2009 and also had relationships with adult film star Sunset Thomas and several of his brothel employees. He once stated that he only dated sex workers, not civilians.
In addition to the Love Ranch and the Moonlite Bunny Ranch, Hof also owned the Kit Kat Ranch and the Sagebrush Ranch. The Moonlite Ranch though is the most famous and infamous as it is where former NBA star Lamar Odom overdosed on 2015.
GOP candidacy
In June 2018, Hof shocked many when he clinched the Republican nomination in his local state assembly primary. In the Republican-leaning district, he has been compared to President Donald Trump.
“I’m kind of rich, I’m kind of famous, and I’m surrounded by hot chicks. I don’t give a damn what anybody says about me,” Hof said in response to the comparison.
Over the years, Hof faced allegations made by several women that he sexually abused them including a former sex worker who claimed he raped and choked her. He denied all of the accusations.
His net worth
Celebrity Net Worth noted that Hof was worth $20 million when he died. However, he contacted the website several times in the past insisting that his net worth was much higher.
In 2014, he said that his net worth was at $60 million and in 2015, claimed that it was closer to $100 million. The site though did not change the numbers because Hof didn’t provide evidence of an increase.
